Both have justified reasons for me.
To answer your question:
- An Android does not use handoff. Apple’s ecosystem allows me to start working on my iPhone, and end it up on my Mac or iPad, whichever pleases me. Those who use Continuity feels heaven in this ecosystem. This feature helps endlessly while typing an iMessage, Mail, Presentation/Word processor/Spreadsheet, Contacts, Maps, etc. “All Apple devices talk to each other”.
- No Android phone is always updated. Period. There’s no argument to it. When you love software and apps, you know the potential they carry and want to keep your apps and the OS ‘always updated’. An iPhone 5s is still updated with iOS 11 because it is an upgrade and every user who can run it must have it.
- You can ‘3D Touch’. In iPhone 6S+ devices, all you need to do is to apply some more pressure to speed up many tasks.
- Rich Ecosystem. The keyboard text shortcuts/shorthands made on one device are available on all others - be it iPhone, Watch (I hate Apple watch), or an iPad, whatever. Similarly the call history and messages via FaceTime.
- Backups are friendly. The full-phone backups are either stored on iCloud or on local disk (manually) and when you restore an iPhone, you will find all the apps, at their position with their data waiting patiently for WiFi. You don’t need any 3rd party software for doing that.
That’s it. Honestly, everything else is there in other phones and in fact Androids provide more features, more customization.
There are so many other reasons that makes other people love iPhone. Although not unique, but of higher quality.
- Photographs are better.
- Slo-mo, Time-Lapse works awesome.
- Processor is so fast that 2GB RAM can get you a long way.
- For a person who isn’t a phone freak, an iPhone from box is it. I bought an iPhone for my dad (around 4 years ago) and it is still working without any problem at all. Dad’s happy and too much satisfied with it. He insisted on giving an iPhone SE to my younger sister because he’s sure it will work for another 4 years.
This phone doesn’t complicate things up. You can unlock it and use right away without caring about launchers, home screen/apps, widgets etc. - Accessibility features such as magnifier, compass, clock, screen recorders are carefully and correctly implemented.
- It just works. iPhones have a pretty good reputation of running for years. And they do.
But at the end, it’s all about utility. If you know how to use a phone wisely, you will know what makes one phone different from another. Although I am strongly against showoffs, I really love my iFamily.
